Style is an expression of individualism mixed with charisma. Fashion is something that comes after style.

My Charitable Headband

Today at school my friend visited during lunch.  He lives in Haiti now, his whole family moved there in February to help rebuild their city after the earthquake. I was pretty excited to see him. During his visit he was selling these headbands he brought with him from Haiti. & if my obsession of headbands wasn't enough to get me to buy one, the back story definitely was.
So these headbands are made by amputee women that lost either an arm or leg due to the earthquake. In their country they aren't viewed as a whole person so this is the only job they can ever have. Each one costs $10 however $5 goes to the individual woman who made it. $5 might not sound like much to some of you, but there it's an average weeks pay. So to receive that for every band they braid is great.
If any of you are interested in purchasing one comment below & I will try to get the website from my friend!

  3. This is really cool! And a great way to get us greedy people to give back. It sounds horrible but there are always those people who think they are saints when they buy a pair of TOMS or a headband when in reality, they wouldn't give a penny if they didn't get something in return.

    But this is seriously cool!

  4. Hahahah I know, it always bugs me when people show off things like that, you know in the back of your head that the only reason they bought it was for the item. Although, I do have toms too(:
