Style is an expression of individualism mixed with charisma. Fashion is something that comes after style.

Review: Milani HD Advanced Lip Color

I really like the color of this. It nearly matches my natural lip color with a hint of shimmer. It is just sheer enough to look give color without feeling too heavy, the pigmentation is perfect. I have read it is similar to MAC's Luster Lipstick but I have never personally tried them. Another good thing about this is how moisturizing it is. It doesn't dry out my lips at all.
The only things that I don't really like is the packaging. In order to twist the product up you have to completely twist the whole stick multiple times which is slightly annoying. But other than that I think the packaging is really sleek and beautiful.
Over all I would recommend this to anyone who is interested in it. For about $8 this is a really good buy, however I had this sent to me for free so I am not quite sure the exact price. However I do know this is available at CVS.

EOTD #1

This is my daily look for school. I put the lightest color from the YBF Tempestuous Pallette all over my lid then I put the middle color on the crease & blend it together. After that I curl my lashes & add my Sheer Cover Extra Length Mascara. It is so simple  but I really like how it looks.

Review: Maybelline Dream Matte Powder

I just got this powder a few days ago & really like it. I have it in 2-2.5 Beige. Instead of wearing foundation I use this. I have combo skin and since the weather has been heating up here my face has started to look more oily. This gives me a very nice natural matte look. It doesn't look cakey or dry at all. It keeps me shine free all day, even after I work out. I would say this has a light buildable coverage. For $7 this is one of the best deals ever. I heard Rimmel Stay Matte, MAC Blot Powder, & the Matte FX are very similar products.

Black Bean Brownies

  • Sounds weird? Just try them, you'll fall in love. They are great if you have an intolerance or are allergic to dairy or gluten!

Makes 16 brownies

Ingredients

  • 1 (15.5 ounce) can black beans, rinsed and drained
  • 3 eggs
  • 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup white sugar
  • 1 teaspoon instant coffee (optional)
  • 1/2 cup milk chocolate chips (optional)

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lightly grease an 8x8 square baking dish.
  2. Combine the black beans, eggs, oil, cocoa powder, salt, vanilla extract, sugar, and instant coffee in a blender; blend until smooth; pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish. Sprinkle the chocolate chips over the top of the mixture.
  3. Bake in the preheated oven until the top is dry and the edges start to pull away from the sides of the pan, about 30 minutes.

My Fashion Inspirations

Lauren Conrad- She is pretty much a given guess for anyone in their teen years. She has become very sophisticated, her book called Style is REALLY helpful if you are clueless about fashion related topics. Even if you think you know a lot, I suggest you check it out if you haven't yet. You'd be surprised what new tips you are able to find!

Vanessa Hudgens- She is able to pull off any look. She can switch from boho to elegant & make the whole process look effortless. In this picture she has such a clean look, it reminds me of a simplified Chanel look with the gold jewelry, clean makeup & white ruffles.

Olsen Twins- I know, sometimes they look half dead but I still love their style. They aren't afraid to try out new things even if it fails. Ever since I was little I have loved them & was often told I looked like them.

Review: Ojon Restorative Hair Treatment

Last night I used this product for the first time! It's Ojon's Restorative Hair Treatment. I really like ti & would recommended it to everyone. It is super easy to use as long as you follow directions. The oil is solid so you rub it into your palms & it warms right up. The smell is great! Kinda smoky chocolate, coffee, spice but it does take some getting used to if you aren't a huge fan of heavy smells.
It only takes about a teaspoon for average hair, but with mine being thick & long I used about twice that amount. After letting it sit in for about 20 minutes, I washed it out with my regular shampoo. After removing all of the product, I rinsed my hair with Apple Cider Vinegar. Vinegar gets rid of buildup & makes your hair shinier as well. However, don't do this to your hair often because I have heard it may lighten color.
In the morning, my hair was so silk & smooth. You can tell that it is shinier in the after picture. I think that even though it is on the pricier side it is worth it if you color your hair, heat it on a regular basis or have fizzy hair.
If you want to read other things about this before investing the money into it, here are a few links:

2. http://jesayka-life.blogspot.com/
She is one of the nicest people ever! Every time she comments on my blog I cannot help but smile. & also, her blog is great obviously. She always tells stories about her life that make me so happy.
3. http://thebloggityblogofb.blogspot.com
Am I allowed to do this? Give the award back to her? Well, I don't care if it's allowed or not because I absolutely love her blog! If her happy& cheerful banner isn't enough to get you to smile, read her posts. It's one of my most favorite blogs (horrible grammar, I know).

Makeup Tip #1: Mascara

So, you have a favourite mascara & it's running out but you don't have the time to get a new one, here's a quick tip to get a few extra uses!
1. get your mascara.
2. using either a hair dryer, hot water, or a space heater hold the bottom part of the tube that holds the mascara in the heat to loosen the product. MAKE SURE THE LID IS SCREWED ON!
3. take it out & dry it off if you held it under water.
4. then the product should be loosened & ready for an easier application.

does this even make sense?
summary: get the tube of mascara hot so the product becomes more runny, this way you can extend the life of the mascara!

My Charitable Headband

Today at school my friend visited during lunch.  He lives in Haiti now, his whole family moved there in February to help rebuild their city after the earthquake. I was pretty excited to see him. During his visit he was selling these headbands he brought with him from Haiti. & if my obsession of headbands wasn't enough to get me to buy one, the back story definitely was.
So these headbands are made by amputee women that lost either an arm or leg due to the earthquake. In their country they aren't viewed as a whole person so this is the only job they can ever have. Each one costs $10 however $5 goes to the individual woman who made it. $5 might not sound like much to some of you, but there it's an average weeks pay. So to receive that for every band they braid is great.
If any of you are interested in purchasing one comment below & I will try to get the website from my friend!

daily exercise(:

Well since it's starting to get closer to summer & the weather has taken a change for the better I've been quite a bit more active. I am going to start posting little things about my daily exercise. I am "training" (more like running when I feel like it & riding my bike when I'm bored) for an adventure race with my father & sister. It includes 2-4 miles of running. 6-10 of biking & around 1.5 of canoeing. The reason the numbers vary is because you have to use a compass to find your way, so consequently if you aren't skilled in that area you could end up traveling farther than necessary!
So today I tumbled on my trampoline until I hurt my hip twice, then I went on a bike ride to the library to drop off some books. & by the way, be on the look out for a summer reading list soon if you're interested in that. Now I am about to go off on another bike ride around my neighbor hood.

ps. I added some adds around my blog, let me know what you guys think. I know they bother some people so I'm sorry if you're one of them I just thought it would be a fun idea since I personally like them myself.
